Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arnar Ljus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Rand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arnar Ljus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Rand!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand lands with a good body shot.
Rand tries a head kick but it misses.
Rand fails to land the takedown.
Ljus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rand tries to clinch up
and Ljus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ljus walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rand takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rand avoids the body shot from Ljus.
A telegraphed right hand from Rand misses the target.
Ljus fails in his attempt to clinch.

Ljus clinches up against the cage.

Ljus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ljus throws a nice looking combination but Rand bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rand looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ljus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ljus takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rand shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ljus sprawls well. Ljus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rand gets slowly back to his feet.
Ljus lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Rand tries to clinch but Ljus moves out of range.
Ljus lands a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ljus wants to clinch up but Rand keeps it at a distance.
Ljus circles away from the clinch attempt
and Ljus counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rand throws a head kick but Ljus moves out of range.

and Ljus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Arnar Ljus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Rand.

Ljus closes the distance and clinches.

A frustrated look appears on Rand's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ljus wants to get back to striking at distance but Rand won't allow it.

Ljus manages to break the clinch.
Arnar Ljus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ljus throws a nice looking combination but Rand bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ljus has closed the distance and engaged Rand in a clinch.
Rand is trying to break free.

Ljus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fighters circling - Ljus throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ljus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rand moves away.
Rand tries a head kick but it misses.
Ljus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ljus lands a jab to the nose.
Ljus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rand takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rand takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rand defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ljus.
Ljus stuffs the takedown.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ljus. Rand does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Ljus counters with a two punch combo.

Rand takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ljus throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ljus fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Ljus drives through and clinches with Rand against the cage.

Rand throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ljus scores with a jab. Rand acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Ljus jabs Rand right on the nose. Rand blinks but takes it well.
Rand looks to score with a jab to the body but Ljus is just out of range.
Ljus throws a one two combo.
Rand throws a series of punches but Ljus moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Rand. No joy for Ljus on that attempt.
Rand throws a big counter head kick but Ljus avoids it with no problem.
Arnar Ljus is winning the standup battle so far.
Ljus shoots for a takedown but Rand saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ljus misses with a straight left.
A little jabbing left from Rand on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Ljus is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rand can do to turn this around?
Rand dodges the punch combination from Ljus.
Ljus lunges at Rand with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rand's hand.

A combination from Ljus does no damage.
Rand throws a fast counter high kick but Ljus manages to duck under it in time.
Ljus throws a shot to the body.
Rand throws a sloppy head kick
letting Ljus counter with a right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ljus scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ljus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ljus throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rand counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rand throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rand scores with a one two! Ljus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Ljus lands a nice shot that snaps Rand's head back.
Ljus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rand manages to avoid it.

Rand tries to clinch
and Ljus counters with a stiff right hand.
Rand takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rand looks to throw the jab but Ljus is out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ljus, as that shot connected.
Rand ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ljus moves away.
Rand has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Rand on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ljus throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Rand colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Ljus as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Rand is left battered and dazed whilst Ljus and his camp cheer!
