Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Diego Ferreira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kona Bud!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bud throws a front kick that sends Ferreira stumbling back into the cage.
Ferreira takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Bud tries a head kick but it misses.
Ferreira tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bud's coach down at Highland CT & Spar was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bud's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bud lands a leg kick that knocks Ferreira off balance momentarily.
Bud is looking to slow Ferreira down with leg kicks.
Bud ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Bud cracks a nice hook into Ferreira's ribs.
Bud throws a sloppy head kick
and Ferreira counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ferreira.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ferreira controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ferreira definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ferreira is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bud is trying to keep Ferreira in close.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bud tries a head kick but it misses.
Bud scores with a nice head shot.
Bud lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bud, right into the meat.
Ferreira blocks a head kick by Bud.
Bud bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Bud throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A head kick misses from Bud.
Bud scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ferreira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bud defends it nicely.

Bud throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Bud lands a head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bud lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ferreira's sensitive parts.
Ferreira fails with a takedown attempt.
Bud defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ferreira.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Diego Ferreira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bud throws a body punch but Ferreira moves out of range.
A lazy left from Bud finds it's target.
Bud lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kona Bud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ferreira feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ferreira drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Ferreira as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Bud screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Ferreira! Nice submission victory there!
