The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lorenzi's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Costa throws an elbow that misses. Lorenzi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Costa's guard. Nice move by Lorenzi!
Costa manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lorenzi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Costa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lorenzi circles away.

Costa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lorenzi, up you get!
Lorenzi tries to clinch but Costa is having none of it.
Lorenzi throws a hook to the side of Costa's head but Costa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Costa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Costa throws a low kick, looking for Lorenzi's leg but Lorenzi calmly moves out of range.

Lorenzi shoots for a double leg takedown but Costa sprawls well. He's pushed Lorenzi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Costa looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lorenzi!
Costa takes a little break here. Lorenzi wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Costa decides to stand back up. Costa steps back and let's Lorenzi get back to his feet.
Paulo Costa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Costa is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lorenzi's half guard.

Costa wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Lorenzi uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Costa gets to his feet. Lorenzi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Costa lands a left and a right that sends Lorenzi crashing to the canvas! Costa dives into mount looking to finish!

Costa throws a sloppy strike and Lorenzi uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Lorenzi has ended up in Costa's guard.
Oh Lorenzi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Costa wants to sweep but no luck.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Costa is adopting a defensive guard.
Lorenzi seems to have got his legs back now.

Lorenzi looking to sit in guard and control but Costa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Costa stands and steps away. Lorenzi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Costa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Costa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Costa is looking for the big counter here.
Costa defending well as Lorenzi loads up on a big left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lorenzi. Costa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lorenzi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Costa.
Costa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lorenzi sprawls well initially but Costa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lorenzi is staying active underneath Costa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Costa tries to stand and escape but Lorenzi is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Costa decides to stand back up. Costa steps back and let's Lorenzi get back to his feet.
Lorenzi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lorenzi shoots in for a double leg but Costa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Costa with the counter takedown but Lorenzi avoids it easily.
Costa gets a double leg takedown into Lorenzi's guard.
Lorenzi has his feet on Costa's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Costa shoots in looking for a takedown but Lorenzi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Costa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lorenzi throwing a counter right hand but Costa manages to avoid it.
Costa clinches up with Lorenzi and pushes him back against the cage.
Costa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lorenzi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Costa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lorenzi is proving hard to escape from.
Paulo Costa has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Costa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Costa is looking to work some ground and pound but Lorenzi has wrist control.
Costa cracks Lorenzi with a solid left hand.
Costa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Costa postures up in Lorenzi's guard and throws a big left but Lorenzi blocks it.
Costa wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lorenzi's closed guard. He's half up but Lorenzi has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lorenzi pivots and extends the arm, Costa falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lorenzi! Well done that man!
