Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Kaufmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiri Necas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aaron Kaufmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiri Necas!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Necas instigates a clinch.

Necas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaufmann uses from the top position.
Necas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kaufmann controls the pace.
Kaufmann could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kaufmann has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Necas is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Necas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Necas has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kaufmann is trying to keep an underhook but Necas manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Kaufmann has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Necas is working away from the top position though.

Kaufmann tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Necas is keen to just control but Kaufmann is a slippery customer.

Necas looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Necas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kaufmann's head.
Kaufmann wants to improve his position but Necas is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kaufmann has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Necas is working away from the top position though.
Necas blocks the strikes from Kaufmann.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Necas clinches with his opponent.

Necas breaks from the clinch.
Kaufmann shoots in but Necas avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Necas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kaufmann manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Necas wanted to stand there but Kaufmann had control of the position.
Necas is working Kaufmann over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Necas shoots in for a takedown but Kaufmann shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kaufmann shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kaufmann was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Necas wants to get back to his feet but Kaufmann is dominant here and he's now got Necas's back!
You can see the frustration on Necas's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Kaufmann thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Kaufmann is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Necas defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Jiri Necas has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kaufmann is trying to stick to Necas's back but Necas is turning into Kaufmann. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kaufmann's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Necas.

Necas trying to control the position from guard on top but Kaufmann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kaufmann looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Necas passes into side control.
Necas tries to advance to mount but can't.
Kaufmann tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Necas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaufmann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kaufmann wants to control but Necas is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kaufmann takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Necas lands with some strikes.
Kaufmann keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Necas wants to control the pace but Kaufmann is squirming around nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jiri Necas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Necas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kaufmann avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Necas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Necas looks for the body kick but Kaufmann saw that one coming.
Necas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kaufmann pinned against the cage. Kaufmann gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Necas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kaufmann is fending him off so far but Necas persists. Nope, Kaufmann circles away and we're back to standing.

Necas tries to pull guard but Kaufmann won't allow it.
Necas jumps guard but Kaufmann stands there with Necas around his waist. Necas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Necas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaufmann uses from the top position.
Kaufmann wants to control from the top but Necas keeps moving.
Kaufmann is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Necas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kaufmann can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Necas throws a nice looking combination but Kaufmann bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kaufmann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Necas swivels and escapes.
Necas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kaufmann drives through and clinches with Necas against the cage.

Necas goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kaufmann prevents it.
Necas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Necas has Kaufmann pushed against the cage.
Necas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kaufmann fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Necas swats away the attempt to clinch by Kaufmann.
Necas shoots in and drives through. Kaufmann sprawls well.
Kaufmann drops down looking for a counter takedown but Necas sprawls and moves away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kaufmann is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Necas's half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aaron Kaufmann.
Well Necas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
