Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dominic East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Alvario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominic East has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dominic East!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Alvario!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvario fails with a takedown attempt.
Alvario shoots and misses
and Alvario takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
East moves in looking to clinch but Alvario pushes him off.
East misses with a wild combination.
East tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Alvario counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvario postures up and lands a big shot to East's brow.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Alvario's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
East seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Alvario wants to control from the top but East keeps moving.
Alvario postures up in East's guard and throws a big left but East blocks it.

East wants to stand and escape but Alvario is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
East wants to stand but Alvario is controlling the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Alvario takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
East has momentary wrist control but Alvario slips an elbow through the middle.

Alvario with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
East will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

East fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alvario, pushing him back against the cage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Alvario tries for a takedown but East manages to get underhooks.
East lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Alvario backwards.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Jon Alvario will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

East doesn't manage to clinch there - Alvario circles away.
Alvario tries a quick counter leg kick but East is wise to it.
Left hook, right uppercut from East.
Alvario goes for a double leg but East avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as East continues to drive forward.

Alvario fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but East is out of range.

Alvario shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alvario showed some decent athleticism there.

Alvario takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
East is refusing to be controlled, as Alvario sits in half guard.
Alvario is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
East tries to kick Alvario off in order to stand up. Alvario Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
East takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
East takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

East is trying to improve his position.
Alvario creates some space and throws a big elbow, but East sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Alvario scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at East to see if he's OK.
Alvario is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt East will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

East is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
East is working to avoid the ground and pound but Alvario connects with a decent elbow.
Alvario has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alvario wants to lay and pray for a moment but East keeps working.

Alvario swings around for an armbar but East sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Alvario's guard.
Alvario is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Alvario is chipping away with strikes.
Alvario scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at East to see if he's OK.
East takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
East pushes Alvario away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alvario gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Alvario looks up at the clock and then as East takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alvario smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Alvario has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

East is looking for a sweep.
Jon Alvario is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

East takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
East is not content to let Alvario control the position.
Alvario in side control, throwing shots but East defends.
East is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Alvario is controlling him well.
Alvario just content to control the position.
Alvario's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alvario grinds an elbow into East's temple.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Alvario comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Alvario winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
