Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ross El Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jet Li Iii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ross El Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jet Li Iii!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Li Iii.
Li Iii bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps El Diaz's head backwards.
Li Iii connects with a good right hand that stumbles El Diaz. El Diaz circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
El Diaz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

El Diaz shoots in and bounces Li Iii off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
El Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Li Iii swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Li Iii has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but El Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Li Iii is on top in guard.

Li Iii throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as El Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
El Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

El Diaz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Li Iii with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

El Diaz stands up over Li Iii, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Li Iii is looking for a triangle but El Diaz pushes his legs off easily.

El Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Li Iii has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but El Diaz has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Li Iii's face as El Diaz controls the position.
El Diaz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

El Diaz looks up at the clock and then as Li Iii takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, El Diaz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. El Diaz connects with a nice short shot to Li Iii's temple.
El Diaz is pressing down on Li Iii's thigh, looking to free his foot. Li Iii is holding on for now.
Well, if El Diaz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for El Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
