These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez Lopez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Choi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Despite the aggression on Lopez Lopez's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Choi throws a shot to the body.
Lopez Lopez throws a hook but Choi blocks it.
Choi throws a right and a left that Lopez Lopez avoids nicely.
Lopez Lopez tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Choi, as that shot connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Choi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

K.J. Choi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guywaun Lopez Lopez.
Choi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lopez Lopez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Choi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Choi throws a nice looking combination but Lopez Lopez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lopez Lopez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Choi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lopez Lopez, into his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lopez Lopez throws an elbow that misses. Choi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lopez Lopez's guard. Nice move by Choi!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Choi loads up on a big left hand. Lopez Lopez felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Choi looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Lopez Lopez can't hide his disappointment, as Choi celebrates the victory.
