Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Kilpatrick!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpatrick dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Benzali. That did some damage!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Benzali is defended easily by Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick flicks out a counter leg kick but Benzali steps away.
Benzali blocks a head kick by Kilpatrick.
Benzali fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kilpatrick tries a quick counter leg kick but Benzali is wise to it.
Kilpatrick circles away from the clinch attempt.
A combination from Kilpatrick does no damage.
Benzali takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Benzali on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The fight stays on the outside here - Benzali looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kilpatrick has Benzali up against the cage in a clinch.

Kilpatrick slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Benzali's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kilpatrick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kilpatrick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kilpatrick looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Benzali is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Patrick Benzali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benzali tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kilpatrick paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kilpatrick buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Benzali is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Kilpatrick lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Patrick Benzali has been cut.
Kilpatrick is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Kilpatrick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kilpatrick fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Benzali has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Benzali jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kilpatrick walks away with a smile on his face. Benzali gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kevin Kilpatrick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kilpatrick clinches up with Benzali and pushes him back against the cage.

Benzali is working for takedown but Kilpatrick is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kilpatrick lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Benzali backwards.

Oh Benzali is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kilpatrick lands with a right to the head.
Kevin Kilpatrick seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Kilpatrick lands a big head kick that sends Benzali to the canvas! Kilpatrick follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
