The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriquez clinches up with Torham and pushes him back against the cage.
Torham trying to land knees to the body.
Torham is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rodriquez gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Rodriquez trying to pass the guard but Torham defending well.
Rodriquez is working for a submission of some sort.
Rodriquez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Torham defends it well.
Torham is defending against the submission attempts here by Rodriquez.
Rodriquez wants to work for an arm triangle but Torham is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodriquez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Torham has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rodriquez decides to stand and escape the position.
Torham wants to clinch up but Rodriquez keeps it at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Torham.
Rodriquez clinches up with Torham and pushes him back against the cage.
Rodriquez breaks from the clinch.
Rodriquez throws a left that rocks Torham and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rodriquez dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Torham regain composure!
Torham is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rodriquez has hold of Torham's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Torham seems comfortable defending it but Rodriquez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Torham is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Torham is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Rodriquez couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Al Rodriquez!
