PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Bueller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert J Fredrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Bueller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert J Fredrick!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Fredrick.
Fredrick avoids the head kick by Bueller.
Bueller throws a series of punches but Fredrick moves out of range.
Fredrick tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bueller was well out of range. Poor timing from Fredrick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Fredrick.
Bueller moves out of range of the body kick from Fredrick.
Fredrick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A head kick misses from Bueller.
Bueller fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fredrick looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bueller throws a nice looking combination but Fredrick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fredrick is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bueller.

Fredrick drops Bueller with a nice combination! Fredrick dives into Bueller's guard, looking to finish!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fredrick wants to control from the top but Bueller keeps moving.
Bueller seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Fredrick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fredrick is fighting to break Bueller's control of his arms but Bueller is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Robert J Fredrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bueller stalks Fredrick and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fredrick's face. Fredrick staggers backwards, shaken.
Bueller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fredrick avoids it really well and circles away.
Fredrick looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Fredrick goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Fredrick will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oh Bueller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A slow jab from Fredrick misses its intended target.
Bueller seems to have got his legs back now.
Fredrick throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bueller sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bueller pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fredrick back to the cage. Bueller follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Fredrick throws a right hand that misses
and Bueller counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bueller dives in for a single leg takedown but Fredrick sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Bueller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bueller takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bueller fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bueller feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bueller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fredrick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bueller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fredrick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fredrick throws a looping overhand right but Bueller ducks down to avoid it.

Fredrick looks to score with a jab to the body but Bueller is just out of range.

A quick step to the side and Bueller tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big right from Fredrick misses.
Bueller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bueller ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Bueller counters with a two punch combo.

A little feinted left hand from Bueller on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Fredrick throws a body punch but Bueller moves out of range.

Bueller throws a big counter combination but Fredrick scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
We've been told by Bueller's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Fredrick leaves Bueller with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fredrick takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Bueller closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fredrick's guard.

Bueller throws a right hand that Fredrick ducks under and follows up with a left that Fredrick also avoids with ease.

Bueller lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Fredrick is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bueller.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eric Bueller will probably get the nod.

Fredrick swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bueller is looking to wear down Fredrick with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Bueller tries to bum rush Fredrick with a series of wild strikes but Fredrick uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fredrick takes a swing at Bueller's ribcage but misses.
Fredrick throws a looping overhand right but Bueller ducks down to avoid it.
Eric Bueller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bueller throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fredrick.

Fredrick rushes Bueller and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Bueller is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Fredrick piles on the pressure and Bueller crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
