Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kim Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Jobber!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Jobber chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Soto can pounce on him.

Soto moves into range and clinches up with Jobber.
Jobber drops down looking for an ankle pick but Soto pulls his leg out and moves away.

Soto shoots in and bounces Jobber off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jobber is pulling down on Soto's head. It's preventing any offense from Soto, at least for the moment.
Soto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Soto preventing the sweep.
Jobber is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Let's hope that Jobber has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jobber lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Jobber working some strikes from top position.
Jobber working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Soto's head.
Jobber chips away with some ground and pound.


It looks like Kim Soto has been cut.
Jobber loads up on a big left hand. Soto felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Jobber looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Soto can't hide his disappointment, as Jobber celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Jobber!
