Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dale Tsosobe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Reis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dale Tsosobe!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis wants to clinch.

Reis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tsosobe did well to prevent Reis getting side control.

Tsosobe pushes Reis off and gets back to his feet.

Reis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Tsosobe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reis throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tsosobe wants to sweep but no luck.
Reis tries to stand but Tsosobe is controlling from the bottom.
Tsosobe controls Reis momentarily but Reis frees himself.
Reis wants to control from the top but Tsosobe keeps moving.

Reis is looking to stand up but Tsosobe won't let him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tsosobe can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reis throws a big elbow that misses.
Reis trying to control the position from guard on top but Tsosobe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Reis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Reis wants to clinch.
Reis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tsosobe is looking for the big counter here.
Tsosobe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reis circles away.
The fighters circling - Tsosobe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Reis tries to bum rush Tsosobe with a series of wild strikes but Tsosobe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Reis rushes Tsosobe and presses him up against the cage.
Tsosobe is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Reis to keep the fight standing.

Reis breaks from the clinch.
A head kick misses from Reis.
Nice takedown defense from Tsosobe. No joy for Reis on that attempt.
Reis shoots in for a takedown but Tsosobe shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Reis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tsosobe throws a series of punches but Reis moves out of range.
Tsosobe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Reis counters with a three punch combo that has Tsosobe backing up. Tsosobe nods at Reis to acknowledge the strikes.
Tsosobe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reis circles away quickly and effectively.
Reis throws a big counter combination but Tsosobe scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tsosobe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Reis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tsosobe but Tsosobe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tsosobe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Reis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Reis wants to get back to his feet.
Reis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nice strikes from Reis there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reis wants to free his trapped foot but Tsosobe is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Reis stands up from half guard.
Reis fails with the takedown.
Reis dodges the punch combination from Tsosobe.
Tsosobe is looking to clinch but Reis is avoiding it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tsosobe.
Tsosobe looks winded!
Tsosobe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reis swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Reis gets a takedown into half guard.

Reis gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reis moves out of range of the strikes.
Tsosobe tries to bum rush Reis with a series of wild strikes but Reis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reis scores with a three punch combo!
Reis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tsosobe circles away.
Dale Tsosobe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reis landing strikes.

Reis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tsosobe to his feet.
Reis lands a jab-cross combination.


Tsosobe is rocked!
Reis has a takedown stuffed.
Tsosobe is still on wobbly legs! Can Reis finish him?
Reis lands a jab to Tsosobe's midsection.
Reis shoots in looking for a takedown but Tsosobe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tsosobe seems to have recovered his senses.
That kick from Reis tenderised Tsosobe's leg. Tsosobe is trying to keep his angry face on.
Tsosobe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reis has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Reis dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Reis dives in for a single leg takedown but Tsosobe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tsosobe misses with the combination.
Reis is looking for a counter combo.
Tsosobe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Reis has a takedown stuffed.

Reis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tsosobe managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Reis.
Reis wants to control but Tsosobe is keeping him busy.
Tsosobe is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tsosobe is not content to let Reis control the position.
Reis works to advance to full mount. Tsosobe defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tsosobe is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reis sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Tsosobe regains half guard.
Reis lands a big elbow - Tsosobe is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Reis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Reis!
