Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kane Arona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sean Cox!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arona scores with a one two! Cox had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Cox shoots in but Arona avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Arona fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cox on the side of the head.
Sean Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cox dives in and grabs Arona's left leg, looking for a takedown. Arona pushes down on Cox's head and hops out.
Cox doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Arona counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kane Arona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Cox.
Cox takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Cox tries for a takedown but Arona circles away easily
letting Arona counter with a right hand.
Cox is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Arona knocks Cox out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kane Arona!
A very excited looking Kane Arona made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
