PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chap Muay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sloane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chap Muay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Sloane!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Muay.
Muay looks for a takedown but Sloane sprawls well.
Muay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sloane pinned against the cage. Sloane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sloane unleashes a big counter combination but Muay bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chap Muay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Muay misses the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sloane pushes Muay up against the cage in a clinch.
Muay is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sloane is defending well.
Muay on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Muay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Muay dives in for a single leg takedown but Sloane sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Sloane trying to control the position from guard on top but Muay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Muay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sloane on the ground.

Muay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sloane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Muay is breathing heavily.

Muay clinches with his opponent.
Sloane blocks an elbow strike from Muay.

Muay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Sloane. No joy for Muay on that attempt.
Muay shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sloane as he avoids it easily.

Sloane clinches.
Sloane is stalling here.
Sloane misses with a knee strike.
Muay goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sloane prevents it.
Muay tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Sloane lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Sloane breaks the clinch.
Sloane fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sloane rushes Muay and presses him up against the cage.
Sloane misses with a hook from the clinch.
Sloane swings wildly with an uppercut but Muay uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Muay breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Sloane dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Sloane counters with a two punch combo.
Sloane misses with a body kick.
Sloane tries to clinch but Muay moves out of range.

Sloane has taken the fight to the clinch.

Muay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Muay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sloane but Sloane pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sloane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Muay breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Muay or perhaps it was just good defense by Sloane, which made it look bad.
Despite the aggression on Sloane's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Muay gets tackled into the cage by Sloane. Sloane maintains the clinch.

Sloane jumps guard.
Muay looking to sit in guard and control but Sloane gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sloane scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Sloane gets to his feet. Muay looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Sloane tries to close the distance and clinch but Muay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sloane is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Muay with a body shot.
No luck for Muay with that takedown attempt.
Sloane raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Sloane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Muay but Muay pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sloppy strikes from Muay. Those never looked like landing.
Sloane moves in looking to clinch but Muay pushes him off.
Muay went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Chap Muay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Muay is looking to counter the offense by Sloane and move into the clinch.
Sloane misses with a takedown attempt - Muay sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sloane moves in looking to clinch but Muay pushes him off.

Muay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sloane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Muay somewhat.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sloane. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Muay throws a leg kick
and Sloane counters with a left and a right that stings Muay.
Muay fails with the takedown.
Sloane has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Chap Muay has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank Sloane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Muay tries to land knees in the clinch but Sloane avoids the damage to the body.

Well Sloane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
