Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee tries to close the distance and clinch up but De La Hoya swats him away and circles back towards the center.
De La Hoya throws a counter high kick but McGee was just alert enough to avoid it.
Dean McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

De La Hoya has taken the fight to the clinch.
De La Hoya lands a body shot.
A shot in the inside from De La Hoya.
McGee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. De La Hoya smiles and moves away.
De La Hoya thumps McGee with a low kick.
McGee has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from De La Hoya.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGee tries to close the distance and clinch but De La Hoya swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McGee tries to score a power double leg takedown but De La Hoya sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGee somewhat.

McGee takes a jab right on the kisser.

It looks like Dean McGee has been cut.
McGee darts in looking for a takedown but De La Hoya gets double underhooks and turns McGee into the cage.
Jose De La Hoya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean McGee.
McGee falls off balance throwing a combination
and De La Hoya counters with a body kick.
McGee looks winded!
McGee throws a hook to the side of De La Hoya's head but De La Hoya sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jose De La Hoya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGee looks to clinch
and De La Hoya makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McGee crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from De La Hoya - the referee stops the clock and McGee gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says De La Hoya. McGee manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
De La Hoya lands a front kick.
McGee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but De La Hoya moves away.
McGee walks forward, straight into a front kick from De La Hoya.
McGee tries to move into range but De La Hoya moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De La Hoya connects with a jab.
De La Hoya scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
De La Hoya throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

De La Hoya lands a big uppercut and McGee crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McGee looks OK. De La Hoya waves McGee back to his feet!

McGee is rocked!
De La Hoya lands a brutal uppercut that launches McGee off his feet! McGee tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jose De La Hoya!
Jose De La Hoya was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
