Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denver Ingram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Maranz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brendan Maranz looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Denver Ingram!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brendan Maranz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Maranz.

Ingram explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Maranz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Ingram takes the fight into the clinch.
Ingram drops down looking for an ankle pick but Maranz pulls his leg out and moves away.

Maranz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ingram is looking for a sweep. Maranz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ingram knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maranz on the ground.

Ingram really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ingram throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maranz's waist but Maranz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ingram off to one side.
Ingram shoots for a double leg takedown but Maranz sprawls well. He's pushed Ingram's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ingram looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maranz wants to counter with a clinch but Ingram pushes him away.

Ingram gets to his feet - Maranz follows without any prompting.

Ingram throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Ingram shoots in looking for a takedown. Maranz tries to sprawl out of it but Ingram keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maranz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Ingram counters with a series of strikes. Maranz will be more careful next time no doubt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ingram enables Maranz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ingram manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ingram is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Maranz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ingram throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Ingram thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Maranz if he has to take too many more of those.
Maranz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maranz wants it to stay on the feet.
Maranz moves to clinch but Ingram breaks away

and Ingram counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Maranz!

Ingram is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maranz has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ingram looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maranz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ingram tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maranz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ingram somewhat.

and Ingram counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Brendan Maranz.
I think Maranz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
