Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Austin Worner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Davidson's choice of entrance music: August Burns Red - Meridian. Austin Worner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 38 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Worner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Dustin Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Worner looks for a takedown but Davidson sprawls well.

enabling Davidson to counter with a crisp jab.
Worner shoots in but no luck this time.
Davidson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Austin Worner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Worner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davidson's waist but Davidson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Worner off to one side.

Davidson gets control of Worner's arms and successfully pulls guard. Davidson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Worner wants to control the position but Davidson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Davidson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Davidson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Davidson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
It looks like Davidson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Worner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Worner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Davidson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Worner back to the cage. Davidson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Davidson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Worner uses from the top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Worner won't allow Davidson to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davidson is on top in guard.

Worner wants to control but Davidson postures up.
Davidson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Davidson shoots in and bounces Worner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davidson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Worner controls Davidson momentarily but Davidson frees himself.

Dustin Davidson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Worner shoots in for a takedown but Davidson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Davidson counters with a three punch combo that has Worner backing up. Worner nods at Davidson to acknowledge the strikes.

Davidson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Worner tries for a takedown but Davidson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Worner shoots in for a takedown but Davidson shows good takedown defense.
And Davidson tries to counter it with a takedown but Worner pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Worner shoots in but no luck this time.
Davidson unleashes a big counter combination but Worner bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Worner wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Davidson has him pressed against the cage.

Davidson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Davidson manages to end up in side control.

Dustin Davidson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Worner takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Worner's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davidson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Worner scrambles back to his feet.
Austin Worner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Worner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davidson as he avoids it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dustin Davidson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Davidson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
