The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaputtski sprawls well. He's pushed Maia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A jab-cross combination lands for Kaputtski and sends Maia crashing to the mat! Kaputtski follows him down to the mat - Maia regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Maia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kaputtski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
