Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tigran Badoyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Dragunov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Badoyan.
Dragunov raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A combination from Dragunov does no damage.
Badoyan throws a leg kick but Dragunov sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Badoyan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Badoyan gets the takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Badoyan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Badoyan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Dragunov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Badoyan wants to control but Dragunov is keeping him busy.

A lull in the action here as Badoyan stalls from top position.
You can see the frustration on Dragunov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dragunov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Badoyan shoots for a double leg takedown but Dragunov sprawls well. He's pushed Badoyan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A looping hook to the body misses from Dragunov. Badoyan does a little dance to reset his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Badoyan tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Badoyan shoots in for a takedown but Dragunov shows good takedown defense.

Badoyan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
