Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fong Say Yuk!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean McConnor!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Say Yuk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McConnor fails with an attempt to clinch.
McConnor on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Say Yuk lands with a kick to the temple. McConnor shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Say Yuk connects with a crisp jab.
McConnor dives in and grabs Say Yuk's left leg, looking for a takedown. Say Yuk pushes down on McConnor's head and hops out.
McConnor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Say Yuk swivels and escapes.
McConnor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fong Say Yuk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean McConnor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McConnor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

McConnor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Say Yuk makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Say Yuk.
Say Yuk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McConnor is controlling him.
Say Yuk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McConnor postures up.
McConnor is fighting to break Say Yuk's control of his arms but Say Yuk is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Say Yuk looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Say Yuk wants to get back to his feet but McConnor is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McConnor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McConnor postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
McConnor content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
McConnor wants to control from the top but Say Yuk keeps moving.

Say Yuk is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Say Yuk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Say Yuk tries to get out of the position.
Say Yuk looking to hit a scissor sweep but McConnor is one step ahead there.
Say Yuk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Say Yuk wants to sweep here but McConnor controlling him for the moment.
Say Yuk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
McConnor stops Say Yuk from standing up.
McConnor advances to half guard.
McConnor is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Say Yuk is trying to stand up here but McConnor is controlling him well.
McConnor is nestled in close to Say Yuk, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

McConnor gets a takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Say Yuk is trying to stand.

Say Yuk tries to roll over but McConnor keeps him under control.
Say Yuk looks like he's trying to stand up.

McConnor seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Say Yuk is trying to stand back up but McConnor is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sean McConnor will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


McConnor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

McConnor scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Say Yuk tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McConnor has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Say Yuk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McConnor is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Say Yuk bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Our spies down at at Feed'em To The Lions inform us that McConnor has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Say Yuk is sitting in close to McConnor's body. McConnor has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Say Yuk is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Say Yuk is tapping! That was a very nice submission by McConnor.
