Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taylor Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stein Lager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lager bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Velasquez tries to bench press Lager off him but Lager keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lager thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A control attempt from Velasquez but he's now mounted!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Velasquez tries to lock up and control but Lager gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Lager is working for a guillotine from mount but Velasquez frees his head quite easily.

Lager working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lager wants to take Velasquez's back but he can't do it this time.
Velasquez is trying to escape the mount.

Lager controlling the pace for now.
Velasquez wants to hold on but Lager pushes him away.

Lager is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Velasquez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Velasquez shrugs it off.

Lager goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Velasquez turns into him and now he's in Lager's guard.

Lager is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Velasquez frees his head nicely. Oh but Lager has switched to an armbar! Velasquez is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
