Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kapow Babow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stan Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kapow Babow!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, John Mangel and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mckenzie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Babow to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Babow wants to get up but he can't break Mckenzie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mckenzie looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Babow puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Babow lands strikes from half guard.
Babow is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Babow stands up and beckons Mckenzie to join him on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Babow shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mckenzie pushes Babow off and gets back to his feet.

Mckenzie is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Babow presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Babow gets control of Mckenzie's arms and successfully pulls guard. Babow will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Mckenzie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mckenzie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mckenzie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Babow's head.

Babow is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mckenzie is aware though and is defending well.
Babow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mckenzie's guard.


Mckenzie wriggles free and stands up.
Babow on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Babow is working an open guard so Mckenzie takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mckenzie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Babow but Babow pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mckenzie misses with a takedown attempt - Babow sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mckenzie darts in looking for a takedown but Babow gets double underhooks and turns Mckenzie into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Mckenzie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Babow shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mckenzie napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mckenzie explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Mckenzie drives through and clinches with Babow against the cage.

Babow has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mckenzie is trying to keep an underhook but Babow manages to get the takedown into half guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mckenzie enables Babow to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mckenzie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Babow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Babow pushes Mckenzie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mckenzie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Mckenzie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mckenzie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mckenzie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Babow is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mckenzie has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Babow is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mckenzie yanks on the arm and Babow is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mckenzie.
