Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alk Manik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragomir Turgulan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turgulan has chosen Kings Never Die as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Alk Manik has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manik tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Turgulan is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Turgulan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Manik.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turgulan is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Turgulan throws out a loose jab but Manik uses good head movement to avoid it.

Manik tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Turgulan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Manik shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turgulan sprawls well. Turgulan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Manik gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Manik doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Manik shoots for a double leg takedown but Turgulan sprawls well. He's pushed Manik's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Turgulan steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Manik.

Good exchange - Turgulan coming out on top.
Turgulan throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Manik's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Turgulan dives in looking to finish as Manik flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Turgulan's strikes! Turgulan is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Manik's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Manik was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
