Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee drives through and clinches with Thomson against the cage.
Thomson wants to stall.
McGee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thomson is fending him off so far but McGee persists. Nope, Thomson circles away and we're back to standing.
McGee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thomson darts in trying to clinch
and McGee counters by clinching up.
McGee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McGee misses with a low kick as Thomson jumps back.
Thomson closes the distance looking to clinch
and McGee counters with a nice double leg into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McGee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McGee postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McGee decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thomson, up you get!
Thomson moves in looking to clinch but McGee pushes him off.
McGee misses with a straight right.
McGee fails in his attempt to clinch.
McGee swats away the attempt to clinch by Thomson.
Thomson darts in trying to clinch
and McGee holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McGee has him pressed against the cage.
Thomson wants to stall.
Thomson wants to break free but McGee has control.
McGee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thomson doesn't manage to clinch there - McGee circles away.
Thomson tries to clinch
and McGee counters with a shoot takedown. Thomson fights it but they end up in guard.
Thomson wants to get back to his feet but McGee is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McGee decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thomson, up you get!
McGee looks to land a right hand but Thomson moved out of range.
Thomson darts in trying to clinch
and McGee counters with a left right combination that sends Thomson crashing to the mat - McGee wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Thomson out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John McGee!
