Charlie Furstenfeld had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers throws a right and a left that both miss.
Furstenfeld takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Powers looks for a takedown but Furstenfeld sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Powers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Furstenfeld drops back looking for a leg! Powers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Powers manages to kick Furstenfeld off! Furstenfeld jumps back into Powers's guard.

Powers wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Furstenfeld feints and as Powers raises his hands in defense, Furstenfeld changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Furstenfeld tries to free his leg and advance position but Powers is retaining full guard.
Powers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Furstenfeld drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Furstenfeld jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Powers can do anything to dispel that myth.
Powers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Furstenfeld drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Powers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Furstenfeld has Powers in his guard.
Powers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Furstenfeld. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Powers wants to control from the top but Furstenfeld keeps moving.
Powers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Furstenfeld had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Powers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Furstenfeld Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Powers's back instead.
Powers looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Furstenfeld scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

Furstenfeld working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Powers is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Furstenfeld has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Powers taps out!
