PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Gordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Hunecke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunecke has chosen Indestructible as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hunecke circles away quickly and effectively.
Hunecke misses with a two punch combination.
Hunecke swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gordan counters with a one-two to the body.
Hunecke looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hunecke misses with a double jab
and Gordan counters with a low kick, right behind Hunecke 's knee.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunecke drops his hands momentarily and Gordan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Kyle Hunecke has been cut.
Gordan throws a head kick that misses.
Gordan misses with a kick to the body.
Hunecke throws a looping overhand right but Gordan ducks down to avoid it.
Gordan throws a right and a left that Hunecke avoids nicely.
Hunecke avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gordan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hunecke counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hunecke looks to land a right hand but Gordan moved out of range.
Gordan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hunecke counters with a three punch combo that has Gordan backing up. Gordan nods at Hunecke to acknowledge the strikes.
Hunecke slips a jab and a cross from Gordan.

Hunecke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gordan.
Hunecke looks gassed!

Gordan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Hunecke counters with a shoot takedown. Gordan fights it but they end up in guard.
Hunecke stops Gordan from standing up.

Gordan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hunecke stays in close to Gordan's body and controls the position.

Hunecke decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gordan, up you get!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gordan lands a two punch combo.

Hunecke lands with a hook. Gordan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kyle Hunecke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunecke throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gordan counters with a three punch combo that has Hunecke backing up. Hunecke nods at Gordan to acknowledge the strikes.
Hunecke misses with a series of wild punches.
Gordan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Hunecke counters with a takedown into side control.
Gordan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hunecke asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Hunecke wants to take a breather but Gordan manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hunecke.
Gordan controls Hunecke momentarily but Hunecke frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gordan is looking to stand up but Hunecke isn't so interested in that idea.
Hunecke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gordan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hunecke trying to control the position from guard on top but Gordan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hunecke stops Gordan from standing up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gordan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hunecke lands with a nice body punch.
Gordan dodges the punch combination from Hunecke.
Hunecke throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Gordan colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Hunecke as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Gordan is left battered and dazed whilst Hunecke and his camp cheer!
