Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ellsworth Mayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Ruthless (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robbie Ruthless has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ellsworth Mayer's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Ruthless misses.

Ruthless has closed the distance and engaged Mayer in a clinch.
Mayer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ruthless jumps guard and drags Mayer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Ruthless isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mayer stacks Ruthless on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mayer!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruthless pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mayer ducks under a wild hook from Ruthless.

Ruthless decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mayer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Mayer misses with a double jab.
Ruthless unleashes a big counter combination but Mayer bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Ruthless rushes Mayer and presses him up against the cage.

Mayer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ruthless throws a head kick that misses.

Ruthless gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mayer tries to work over Ruthless's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ellsworth Mayer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ruthless manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mayer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ruthless ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ruthless no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mayer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ruthless is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ruthless has escaped and now he's on top!

Ruthless stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
