The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Darko misses.

Darko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Meyer tightens his grip and picks Darko up, before dumping him to the ground. Darko manages to land in guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Meyer moves forwards but Darko connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Meyer wants to clinch up but Darko keeps it at a distance.

Meyer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Darko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Darko looks to land a combination but Meyer avoids it well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Darko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Meyer but Meyer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Darko is fighting off a takedown attempt but Meyer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Darko to the mat. Darko regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Meyer is looking to work some ground and pound but Darko has wrist control.
Meyer is pushing down on Darko's leg trying to pass to half guard. Darko is fighting to maintain full guard but Meyer has managed to sneak the leg through.

Meyer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Darko is just riding it out for now. Meyer eventually gives up the hold.

Meyer wants to work for an arm triangle but Darko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meyer is looking to take a break and control but Darko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Meyer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
