Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tomasz Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ronnie Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kowalski has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.

Kowalski manages to break the clinch.

Kowalski shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kowalski controls from within his opponent's guard.
Jackson trying to keep a closed guard but Kowalski is proving a slippery customer.
Jackson can't keep his opponent in guard - Kowalski advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Kowalski stands up and waves to Jackson to follow him.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jackson thows a body shot but no joy.

Kowalski stands and steps away. Jackson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kowalski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kowalski is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Kowalski is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kowalski.

Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kowalski scores with a couple of nice shots.
Kowalski is looking to advance position but Jackson won't allow it.
Jackson wants to sweep but Kowalski has passed to side control!

Kowalski stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kowalski misses with a two punch combination.

and Kowalski counters by clinching up.

Kowalski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kowalski drops Jackson with a right and a left! Kowalski comes rushing in but Jackson regains his composure and manages to keep Kowalski in guard.

It looks like Ronnie Jackson has been cut.

Kowalski stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Kowalski finish him?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kowalski has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.
Jackson seems to have recovered his senses.

Kowalski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jackson is trying to escape the mount but Kowalski keeps good control and instead manages to take Jackson's back.
Kowalski has Jackson flattened out and is raining down punches.
Jackson looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Kowalski is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kowalski gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kowalski gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kowalski apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Tomasz Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Kowalski has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kowalski gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kowalski has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position.

Kowalski is controlling Jackson's posture.
Kowalski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kowalski is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now.
Still in half guard, Kowalski seems content to control.

Kowalski decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Kowalski looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kowalski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kowalski is working away from the top position though.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Kowalski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kowalski stands up and waves to Jackson to follow him.
Kowalski looks to land a combination. Jackson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Kowalski rushes Jackson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kowalski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jackson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kowalski keeps control of the position easily here as Jackson tries to buck him off.
Jackson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kowalski in particular looking to stall.
Kowalski moves into full mount! Jackson won't be happy about that!
Kowalski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kowalski stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kowalski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kowalski forces his way into half guard.
Kowalski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around?

Kowalski content to control rather than advance.
Jackson is in trouble now - Kowalski has advanced to mount!
Jackson reaches up to try and control the position but Kowalski seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Jackson rolls and tries to escape and now Kowalski has his back!
Kowalski just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Jackson tries to roll but Kowalski sticks to his back.
Kowalski connects with a big shot to the side of Jackson's head.

Kowalski is riding his opponent, not letting Jackson buck him off.

Kowalski is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Well Kowalski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
