Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evan Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damico Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davies comes to the cage accompanied by You're Not Alone. Smalls has chosen Jay Z- My President is Black as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smalls shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Davies is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Smalls wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Smalls sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Davies is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Smalls is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Davies fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smalls goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Evan Davies has been cut.
A head kick by Davies misses
and Smalls counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Smalls ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Davies throws a left and a right that both miss

so Smalls counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davies wants to stand and escape but Smalls is having none of it.

Smalls drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smalls jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Davies is breathing heavily.

Davies uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Davies throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smalls counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Davies is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Smalls closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davies to the mat! Davies manages to get full guard.
Smalls scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Smalls throwing strikes from guard but Davies blocks nicely.
Smalls advances position into side control!
Smalls advances nicely into full mount.

Smalls with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Davies bucks Smalls off and manages to get back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davies misses with a double jab
and Smalls makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Smalls looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Davies!

Davies wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Davies knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smalls on the ground.

Smalls looking to secure an arm triangle but Davies defends it well.

Smalls gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Smalls gets a clinch.

Smalls pulls guard.

Smalls is looking for a triangle but Davies pushes his legs off easily.

Davies gets to his feet - Smalls follows without any prompting.
Davies throws a combination that misses
and Smalls connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smalls scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Davies throws a left and a right that both miss

and Smalls holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Smalls breaks from the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Davies tries to break the clinch but Smalls is controlling the position.
Davies is pressed up against the cage. Smalls has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Davies down to the mat. Davies avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Davies misses with a combination

and Smalls moves into the clinch.

Smalls breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smalls uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Davies.
Davies swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Smalls counters with a shoot takedown. Davies fights it but they end up in guard.
Davies wants to stand up but Smalls is controlling him.
Smalls wants to control from the top but Davies keeps moving.
Davies wants to get back to his feet but Smalls passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davies trying to hold on to Smalls's head to control him but Smalls postures up.
Smalls performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Smalls is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Davies is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
