PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shin Pak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stein Ramm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramm comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rammstein kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Shin Pak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shin Pak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stein Ramm!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pak tries for a takedown but Ramm circles away easily

and Ramm counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Pak pulls guard.
Ramm wants to stand but Pak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Ramm decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pak, up you get!
Pak misses with a takedown
and Pak takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Ramm, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Pak looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ramm!

Pak stands up.

Pak closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ramm's guard.
Ramm is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pak is controlling him.

Pak working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ramm's head.
Pak cracks Ramm with a solid left hand.
Pak's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ramm looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Pak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pak closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramm circles away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Stein Ramm will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Pak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ramm throws a counter combo.
Pak shoots in for a takedown but Ramm shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ramm is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Shin Pak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ramm misses with a kick to the body.
Pak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramm swivels and escapes.
Ramm is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pak closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ramm did well to prevent Pak getting side control.
Shin Pak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pak is keen to just control but Ramm is a slippery customer.
Pak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pak is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ramm has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pak seems to be looking for submissions.

Ramm has one foot on Pak's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Pak avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ramm keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ramm throws a series of punches but Pak avoids them all with ease.
Pak seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pak or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramm, which made it look bad.

Pak shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ramm napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ramm has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stein Ramm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pak.

Stein Ramm seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ramm closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Shin Pak has been cut.
Pak darts in trying to clinch

and Ramm counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ramm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ramm is looking to stand up but Pak won't let him.
Ramm preventing the sweep.
Pak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ramm would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pak is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ramm avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pak with a poor takedown
enabling Ramm to counter with a crisp jab.
Ramm throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pak counters with a body kick that stops Ramm in his tracks momentarily.
Ramm feints a jab promting Pak to slip. Ramm then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pak slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Pak fails with the takedown
and Ramm counters with a two punch combo.

Ramm lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Ramm throws a series of punches but Pak avoids them all with ease.
Pak shoots in looking for a takedown. Ramm tries to sprawl out of it but Pak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ramm manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Despite the aggression on Ramm's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Pak scores with a leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Stein Ramm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ramm winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
