Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Roger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fullmetal Spike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Roger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fullmetal Spike!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roger clinches up with Spike and pushes him back against the ropes.
Spike told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Roger throws a punch but it's blocked by Spike.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Roger creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Spike misses with a hook to the ribs.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Roger throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Spike blocks it with crossed arms.

Spike has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Roger is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Spike is trying to drag Roger to the mat but Roger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Dean Roger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fullmetal Spike.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Roger makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Roger using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Spike has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Spike throws a punch but it's blocked by Roger.
Spike lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Roger backwards.
Roger takes an elbow to the temple.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Spike creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Roger is looking to control Spike's arms but Spike gets an underhook and turns him. Now Roger has his back to the ropes.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Roger can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Spike lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Spike is still on wobbly legs! Can Roger finish him?
Roger has Spike pressed against the ropes. He pushes Spike back and as he springs towards him off the ropes, Roger throws a beautiful elbow that sends Spike crashing to the floor! Roger piles on the pressure with more strikes! Spike is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Roger!
