The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thereduuo takes one on the button.
Palhares misses with the combination.
Thereduuo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Karistokas Thereduuo has been cut.
Palhares works Thereduuo's body with a nice hook.
Palhares has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Thereduuo misses with a hook.
Palhares fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Thereduuo on the side of the head.
Thereduuo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Palhares uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thereduuo has time to react.

and Palhares counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Thereduuo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Palhares avoids it really well and circles away.

Palhares connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Thereduuo's hands.
Thereduuo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Thereduuo seems to have recovered his senses.

and Palhares counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Renan Palhares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karistokas Thereduuo.
Palhares connects with a nice looking jab.
Renan Palhares is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Palhares connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Thereduuo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Palhares connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Thereduuo scrambles back to his feet.

Palhares lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Palhares is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Thereduuo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Palhares sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thereduuo somewhat.
Palhares uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thereduuo has time to react.

Palhares connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thereduuo. Thereduuo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Palhares smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Palhares leaves Thereduuo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Palhares is looking to counter punch.
Palhares lands with an uppercut that bounces Thereduuo off the ropes and back into range.

Thereduuo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Palhares is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Palhares dips to his left and cracks Thereduuo with an uppercut!
Palhares scores with a nice right hand.
BOOM! Palhares lands a beautiful left hook that drops Thereduuo. Thereduuo tries to recover but Palhares is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Thereduuo lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
