Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Saul Mollenhauer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phal Um (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Saul Mollenhauer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phal Um!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mollenhauer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Um throws out the jab.

Mollenhauer gets caught flat footed, as Um shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mollenhauer working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Um has passed into half guard!

Um tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mollenhauer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Um really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mollenhauer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Phal Um showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Mollenhauer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mollenhauer can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Let's hope that Um has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Phal Um comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Um has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
