The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huecias fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gapuz is out of range.
Gapuz lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Tony Huecias has been cut.
Gapuz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Huecias drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Huecias jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gapuz wants to stand up but Huecias is controlling him.

Huecias is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Huecias stands up over Gapuz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Huecias wants to pass the guard but Gapuz is keeping the position.

Huecias is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gapuz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gapuz has escaped and now he's on top!

Gapuz wants to get up but he can't break Huecias's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Huecias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gapuz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gapuz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
