PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ruden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy comes to the cage accompanied by Róisín Murphy - Primitive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruden fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Murphy is out of range.
Ruden throws a hook but Murphy avoids it easily.

Ruden works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

We've been informed that Ruden has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murphy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murphy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round but I would say that Brian Murphy will probably get the nod.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ruden lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
