Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Arthur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Arthur has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bruce Banner's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Arthur!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arthur drives through with a takedown into guard.
Banner controlling the position.
Arthur looking to sit in guard and control but Banner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arthur is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Arthur bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Banner's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banner wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Banner manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Banner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Arthur sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Arthur trying to hold on to Banner's head to control him but Banner postures up.

Banner prevents Arthur from improving his position.
Arthur is pressing down on Banner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Arthur escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Banner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Banner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Arthur trying to keep a closed guard but Banner is proving a slippery customer.
Arthur lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Banner!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Banner tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Arthur smiles and moves away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Banner throws a solid leg kick but Arthur takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Banner.

and Banner counters with a takedown into side control.
Arthur sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Arthur wants to get back to full guard.
Arthur is pressing down on Banner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Banner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Banner is really struggling to control Arthur but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Banner is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Arthur is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Arthur is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Banner controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Banner tries to free his leg and advance position but Arthur is retaining full guard.
Arthur keeping moving, preventing Banner from controlling successfully.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Bruce Banner just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Banner tries for a takedown but Arthur circles away easily

and Arthur counters with a single leg into guard. Banner didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Banner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Arthur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Arthur can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banner is looking to escape.

Banner wants to improve his position but Arthur is controlling well.

Arthur is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Banner has managed to free his arm - good work.
Banner wants to control but Arthur is keeping busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Banner wants to improve his position but Arthur is controlling well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Banner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Arthur closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Banner wants to control but Arthur postures up.
Arthur misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Banner wants to get back to his feet but Arthur is dominant here and he's now got Banner's back!

Arthur is looking for a choke. Banner gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Banner manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Banner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Banner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Banner wants to control from the top but Arthur keeps moving.

Arthur had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Banner is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Arthur Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Banner's back instead.

Chuck Arthur comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Arthur has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
