The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Griffin.

Luiz darts in and clinches Griffin up against the cage.

Luiz breaks the clinch.
Griffin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Luiz throws a nice looking combination but Griffin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Luiz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Luiz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Griffin has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Griffin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Luiz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Griffin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Luiz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Luiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Griffin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Luiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Griffin is working an open guard so Luiz takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Luiz throws a head kick that half lands.

It looks like Danial Griffin has been cut.
Griffin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Luiz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Griffin scrambles back to his feet.

Oh Griffin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Luiz feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Griffin collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
