Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dallas Haynes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bret The Grinder!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Grinder moves into the clinch.
Haynes working hard to break the clinch.
Haynes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. The Grinder smiles and moves away.

Haynes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows The Grinder to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Haynes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as The Grinder controls the pace.
The Grinder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haynes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Grinder controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Haynes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Haynes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The Grinder pushes Haynes up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The Grinder misses with a knee to the head.
Haynes is trying to break the clinch but The Grinder is controlling him.
The Grinder prevents Haynes from breaking the clinch.
The Grinder pushes off an throws an elbow but Haynes leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Haynes fails to pull guard.

The Grinder wants the takedown. Haynes is fighting it off but The Grinder persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Haynes's guard against the cage.
The Grinder stays in close to Haynes's body and controls the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Grinder avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The Grinder is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like The Grinder might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The Grinder is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The Grinder decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Haynes, up you get!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The Grinder closes the distance and pushes Haynes back into the cage.
The Grinder is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

The Grinder is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Haynes can't fight it off and eventually The Grinder manages to take the fight to the floor. Haynes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Haynes uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Horrible takedown attempt by Haynes or perhaps it was just good defense by The Grinder, which made it look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bret The Grinder dominated that round.
That's time! Haynes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for The Grinder. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Haynes manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The Grinder lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Haynes backwards.


Haynes is rocked!

The Grinder breaks the clinch.
Oh Haynes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The Grinder ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Haynes out cold! The fight is over!
