Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Kenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 44 - 29 - 5, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patrick Kenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Kenzie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bishop tries to circle away but Kenzie has him pinned against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bishop.

Kenzie scores with a hook to the body.

Bishop drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kenzie pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've been told by Kenzie's head coaches at The Warehouse that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bishop has Kenzie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kenzie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bishop looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kenzie is fending him off so far but Bishop persists. Nope, Kenzie circles away and we're back to standing.

and Bishop counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Kenzie scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Bishop counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kenzie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bishop trying to control but Kenzie is working from the bottom.
Bishop is in close to Kenzie's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Kenzie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kenzie stalks Bishop and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bishop's face. Bishop staggers backwards, shaken.
Patrick Kenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kenzie throws a nice looking combination but Bishop bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bishop changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

and Bishop decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kenzie's guard.

My spies in The Warehouse inform me that Bishop has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Kenzie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bishop loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kenzie is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Kenzie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bishop manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kenzie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
