Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jarrod Mcgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Keane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keane has chosen The Next Episode as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jarrod Mcgowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Aaron Keane!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keane throws a nice looking combination but Mcgowan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mcgowan was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Keane looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mcgowan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Keane.
Still in half guard, Keane seems content to control.
It looks like Keane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keane throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Keane not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Keane seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Keane is working for a submission of some sort.
Well, if Keane is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Keane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Mcgowan has one foot on Keane's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Keane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mcgowan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Keane manages to circle out of the way.

Keane has managed to clinch.

Keane gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mcgowan regains guard.
Keane trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Keane looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Keane stands up from Mcgowan's guard - Keane perhaps looking for a knockout.

Keane clinches up with Mcgowan and pushes him back against the cage.
Mcgowan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A right handed body shot lands from Keane.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Keane lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Jarrod Mcgowan has been cut.

Keane lands a takedown into guard.

Keane has gone for a leg lock! Mcgowan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Keane's guard.

Keane is pulling down on Mcgowan's head to control his posture.
Mcgowan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Mcgowan won't allow Keane to sweep him here.
Keane avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mcgowan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Keane pulls Mcgowan in close to his closed guard and prevents Mcgowan from doing any damage or advancing position.

Keane is looking for a triangle but Mcgowan pushes his legs off easily.

Keane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Keane dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jarrod Mcgowan's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Keane has closed the distance and engaged Mcgowan in a clinch.

Keane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Keane drops Mcgowan with a beautiful combination! Mcgowan stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Keane is looking for the KO!


Mcgowan is rocked!
OH! Mcgowan has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Keane smells blood and charges in for the finish! Keane unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Mcgowan sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Aaron Keane!
A relieved looking Aaron Keane thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
