Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Crucifixio Capuccio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Hampton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crucifixio Capuccio had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crucifixio Capuccio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Hampton!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Capuccio looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Capuccio is looking for a kimura here.
Hampton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Capuccio is working for a kimura but Hampton is defending it quite comfortably.
Hampton manages to get to full guard.
Hampton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Capuccio is controlling him.
Hampton trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Capuccio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hampton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Capuccio, into his guard.
Hampton advances position into side control!
Hampton sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Capuccio is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Capuccio is trying to get back to half guard.
Hampton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Capuccio keeps working.
Capuccio dodges the ground and pound from Hampton.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Capuccio striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Capuccio struggling a bit here.
Capuccio tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hampton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hampton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hampton stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hampton has his takedown stuffed

and Capuccio counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hampton looks gassed!

Capuccio is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hampton is trying to maintain the position but Capuccio is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Capuccio with the ground and pound but Hampton uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Hampton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Capuccio stands up and waves to Hampton to follow him.
Capuccio has his takedown stuffed

and Hampton counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Capuccio's guard now.
Hampton trying to control but Capuccio is working from the bottom.
Hampton trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Capuccio will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Capuccio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Capuccio working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hampton has passed into half guard!

Capuccio has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Hampton escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Hampton!
Capuccio is looking to regain half guard here but Hampton keeps moving and retains side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Capuccio throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Capuccio is trying to control Hampton's posture but Hampton avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Crucifixio Capuccio will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Capuccio gets the takedown into side control.
Capuccio prevents Hampton from escaping the position.

Capuccio wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hampton, who protects the arm well.

Capuccio has an Americana. Hampton didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Capuccio is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Capuccio hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Crucifixio Capuccio!
