Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Orval Sellers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Asaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Orval Sellers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Asaki!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asaki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Asaki is working for a submission of some sort.
Sellers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Asaki is looking to take a break and control but Sellers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sellers is holding on to half guard well.
Asaki wants to pass to mount but Sellers is defending the position.
Asaki is trying to control. Sellers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Asaki seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Asaki is keen to just control but Sellers is a slippery customer.
Sellers gets full guard.
Sellers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Asaki landing with the ground and pound.
Sellers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Asaki controls the pace.

Asaki drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sellers dives on top into guard.

Sellers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Asaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sellers tries to stand but Asaki is controlling from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sellers tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Asaki manages to circle out of the way.

Asaki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sellers defends it easily.
Sellers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Asaki throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sellers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Asaki is in Sellers's guard.
Sellers wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Asaki works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Asaki might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sellers haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sellers is looking for a sweep. Asaki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Asaki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sellers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Asaki.
Sellers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Asaki is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sellers!
Sellers tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Asaki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sellers is surviving well by controlling Asaki's body position as best he can.

Asaki trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Asaki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sellers turns into him and now he's in Asaki's guard.
Sellers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Asaki is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Asaki isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sellers stacks Asaki on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sellers!

Asaki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sellers is looking for a counter combo.

A close second round but Shinji Asaki will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Sellers throws a head kick that misses.
Asaki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Asaki feints and as Sellers raises his hands in defense, Asaki changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sellers is wriggling around but Asaki manages to pass to half guard.

Asaki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Asaki moves to take his opponent's back.
I really don't envy Sellers right now.

Asaki is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sellers defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shinji Asaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Asaki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
