PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bone Crash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valko Dragov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Go to Sleep - Eminem, Obie Trice, & DMX kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bone Crash has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bone Crash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Valko Dragov!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Crash looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Crash looks to land a combination. Dragov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Crash pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Crash.
Dragov misses with a series of wild punches.
Crash ducks under a wild hook from Dragov.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Crash enables Dragov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Crash manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Crash pulls Dragov in close to prevent any damage.
Dragov throwing strikes but missing.

Dragov has gone for a leg lock! Crash slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dragov's guard.

Dragov looking for a sweep. Not yet Dragov, not yet.

Dragov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crash can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dragov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Dragov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Crash will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dragov looking for a sweep. Not yet Dragov, not yet.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dragov holds on and takes a little breather.
Crash trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dragov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Crash controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Crash won't allow Dragov to sweep him here.
Dragov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Crash is looking to slow Dragov down with leg kicks.
Dragov shoots in but no luck this time.

Crash throws a nice inside leg kick.
Crash lands with a slapping head kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Crash enables Dragov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Crash manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Crash has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dragov off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Crash throws a right hand that Dragov ducks under and follows up with a left that Dragov also avoids with ease.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dragov misses with a shot to the body
and Crash counters with a two punch combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dragov shoots in but no luck this time.

Dragov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Crash has his hands on Dragov's head, controlling the position.
Crash bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dragov's guard.

Crash stays in close to Dragov's body and controls the position.

Dragov wants to control the position but Crash says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Dragov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dragov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bone Crash dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crash throws a head kick that Dragov semi-blocks.
Crash scores with a kick to the midsection.
Crash feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dragov's calf.
Dragov shoots for a takedown but Crash saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Crash throws a counter high kick but Dragov was just alert enough to avoid it.

Dragov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Dragov is trying to ground and pound but Crash uses the momentary lack of control by Dragov to regain half guard.
Dragov thows a huge punch but Crash dodges it nicely.
Dragov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dragov is just content to waste time from the top position. Crash takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Crash is pulling down on Dragov's head. It's preventing any offense from Dragov, at least for the moment.
Valko Dragov has got the better of the ground game so far.

Crash keeping full guard, as Dragov tries to pass.
Crash tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dragov postures up in Crash's guard and throws a big left but Crash blocks it.
Crash is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dragov looking to sit in guard and control but Crash gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dragov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Crash is one step ahead there.
Crash is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dragov can do to turn this around?

Crash wants to control from the top but Dragov keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Crash swinging wildly here.
Dragov fails with the takedown.
Dragov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Crash as he avoids it easily.
Bone Crash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valko Dragov.
Good leg kick by Crash there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Dragov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Crash was covering up waiting for the punch and Dragov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Crash is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Crash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dragov keeps working.
Dragov tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Crash is pressing down on Dragov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dragov is holding on for now.
Dragov wants to improve his position but Crash is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dragov gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bone Crash will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Dragov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Dragov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crash is fending him off so far but Dragov persists. Nope, Crash circles away and we're back to standing.
Crash displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dragov.

Dragov darts in looking for a takedown but Crash gets double underhooks and turns Dragov into the cage.
Bone Crash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valko Dragov.

Crash is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Crash pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dragov shoots in and gets a takedown into Crash's guard.

Dragov is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Crash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dragov throws a big right hand that misses.

Crash is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Crash is pressed up against the cage. Dragov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Crash down to the mat. Crash avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Crash lands a nice looking kick to the body. Dragov takes a step back to recover.

Crash throws a sloppy head kick and Dragov moves out of range easily.
Dragov tries for a takedown but Crash sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Crash tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dragov shoots in and drives through. Crash sprawls well.
Dragov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Crash fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dragov.
Crash lands a jab-cross combination.
Crash throws a head kick but Dragov moves out of range.
Dragov dives in and grabs Crash's left leg, looking for a takedown. Crash pushes down on Dragov's head and hops out.
Dragov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Crash swivels and escapes.

Crash uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dragov.
Crash scores with a head kick. Dragov tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Dragov misses with a takedown attempt - Crash sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Crash dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dragov. That did some damage!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dragov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crash was well out of range. Poor timing from Dragov.
Dragov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crash but Crash pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Crash, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
