Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alan Sansing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hank Hughes struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Alan Sansing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes misses with a low kick as Sansing jumps back.

Sansing got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hughes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sansing has managed to get both his arms back between Hughes's legs - danger averted.

Hughes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sansing looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sansing looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sansing!

Hughes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sansing has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sansing wants to pass the guard but Hughes is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hughes is looking to improve his position.
Sansing stalling away here and it's allowed Hughes to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
