Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Towne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Diego Nogueira!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Towne darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Towne shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.

Nogueira is rocked!

Nogueira throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Towne escapes and throws Nogueira's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Nogueira sneaks out the side door and pushes Towne away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Nogueira fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Towne sprawls well initially but Nogueira persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Towne wants to get back to his feet.
Towne won't allow Nogueira to pass to mount.
Towne is staying active underneath Nogueira, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Nogueira seems to be working for a kimura but Towne defends the submission attempt.
Nogueira is looking to stall here but Towne recovers full guard.
Towne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nogueira is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nogueira accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nogueira swats away the attempt to clinch by Towne.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Towne tries to clinch there but Nogueira circles away.
Towne lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Diego Nogueira has been cut.

Nogueira closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Towne to the mat! Towne manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nogueira looks gassed!

Nogueira prevents Towne from standing back up.
Towne wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nogueira in particular looking to stall.
Towne looks like he's trying to stand up.

Nogueira passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Towne!
Nogueira moves to the back position.
Nogueira controlling the position well here. Towne rolled but Nogueira kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Nogueira gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Nogueira has an active guard here but Towne has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nogueira wants to control but Towne is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A punch combination from Towne misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Towne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sammy Towne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Towne throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Towne wants to clinch up but Nogueira keeps it at a distance.

Towne gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Nogueira decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Towne shoots in and drives through. Nogueira sprawls well.
Nogueira avoids the body shot from Towne.
Towne fails with the takedown

and Nogueira counters with a shoot takedown. Towne fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nogueira lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Nogueira stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nogueira rushes Towne and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Towne is trying to break free.
Nogueira prevents Towne from breaking the clinch.
Towne can't break the clinch.
Towne tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nogueira smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammy Towne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A slapping leg kick lands for Nogueira.
