Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dorian Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza gets a takedown into half guard.
Souza missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Souza wants to pass to mount but Rush is defending the position.
Souza stalling.
Rush is looking for a sweep. Souza is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza trying to mount his opponent but Rush defends it.
Rush is trying to stand up here but Souza is controlling him well.

Rush throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Rush tries to kick Souza off but Souza keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rush tries to clinch but Souza is having none of it.
Souza changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Dorian Rush is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Souza scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rush doesn't seem bothered though.
Rush bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Souza tries a head kick but it misses.
Souza fails with an attempt to clinch.
Souza tries to clinch but Rush moves out of range.
Souza closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rush to the mat! Rush manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza gets to his feet. Rush looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Souza dives in and scores a takedown into Rush's guard.
Souza in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rush keeping moving, preventing Souza from controlling successfully.
Souza decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rush, up you get!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Souza slips under a jab from Rush.

Rush on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Souza fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rush to the ground. Souza is now in Rush's guard.
Rush escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Souza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Souza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rush will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Souza trying to control the position from guard on top but Rush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Souza controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rush working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Souza.

Souza stays in close to Rush's body and controls the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rush looking to hit a scissor sweep but Souza is one step ahead there.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Souza is looking to take a break and control but Rush is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ronaldo Souza dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Souza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rush trying to remain calm as Souza controls from the top position.
Souza goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rush rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Souza's guard! Nice work there by Rush!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rush trying to control but Souza is working from the bottom.
Souza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rush throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Souza lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Rush throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Souza stands and steps away. Rush gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Souza tries to close the distance and clinch but Rush swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Souza is looking to clinch.
Rush went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Rush throws a series of punches but Souza avoids them all with ease.
Souza drives through with a takedown into Rush's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rush wants to get back to his feet but Souza passes into half guard.
Rush tries to kick Souza off but Souza keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Souza is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rush really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rush wants to get back to his feet.
Souza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rush's head.
Souza stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rush to get to his feet.
Souza closes the distance and clinches.
Souza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Souza has Rush up against the cage in a clinch.
Souza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Souza tries to clinch up.
Rush has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Left hook, right uppercut from Souza.
Rush is rocked!
It looks like Dorian Rush has been cut.
Souza closes the distance looking for a takedown. Rush stuffs it but Souza still has hold of him. Souza picks Rush up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Souza slams Rush to the floor and that's really hurt Rush - he doesn't know where he is! Souza throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronaldo Souza!
