Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Spunkly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spunkly has chosen (Rap Music) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rod Black could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tyrone Spunkly's chin.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spunkly throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease.
Black feinted with a counter takedown.
Spunkly throws a series of strikes that have Black backpedaling.
It looks like Rod Black has been cut.
Spunkly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Black has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Spunkly finds it's way round the side to connect with Black's head.
Spunkly throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Black misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Spunkly.

Black tries to counter with a takedown but Spunkly is quick to defend against it.
Spunkly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Black moves away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Spunkly can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Black controls the pace.

Black is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Black seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Spunkly for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Black takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Black closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Spunkly did well to prevent Black getting side control.
