Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lance Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis LaBelle!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaBelle shoots and misses

and Wells decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in LaBelle's guard.
LaBelle is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wells dives into side control.

Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wells has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wells swats away the attempt to clinch by LaBelle.
LaBelle with a poor takedown

and Wells counters with a nice double leg into guard.

LaBelle looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wells has picked LaBelle up and slammed him! LaBelle can't keep hold of the triangle and Wells manages to pass to side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaBelle avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Wells.
LaBelle tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LaBelle trying to control the action but Wells just sinks the hooks in.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LaBelle tries to escape the position.
LaBelle is still trying to improve position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
LaBelle looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Wells patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Wells thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

LaBelle preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Wells.
Wells is punishing LaBelle with some ground and pound.
LaBelle just trying to survive but Wells is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wells has his arm under LaBelle's chin here. Game over son! Wells squeezes tightly and LaBelle is forced to tap out!
