Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Bridges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siroj Ratnam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ed Bridges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Siroj Ratnam!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ratnam fails with a takedown attempt.
Bridges is looking to counter the offense by Ratnam and move into the clinch.

Bridges gets a double leg takedown into Ratnam's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bridges wants to stand but Ratnam is controlling his posture from full guard.

Bridges is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ratnam wants to stand up but Bridges is controlling him.

Ratnam is looking to sweep but instead, Bridges has passed into half guard.

and Bridges counters by clinching up.
Ratnam goes for a takedown attempt but Bridges pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Horrible takedown attempt by Bridges or perhaps it was just good defense by Ratnam, which made it look bad.
Bridges looks for a takedown but Ratnam sprawls well.
Ratnam looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ratnam keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ratnam tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bridges swivels and escapes.

Bridges changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ratnam looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bridges decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Bridges takes the fight into the clinch.
Ratnam wants to take the fight to the mat but Bridges manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Bridges drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ratnam tries for a takedown but Bridges manages to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ratnam jumps guard but Bridges turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Ratnam tries to work over Bridges's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ratnam takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ratnam jumps into guard, dragging Bridges to the mat.

Bridges loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ratnam has a closed guard, preventing Bridges from standing up.
Ratnam is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ratnam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ratnam looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bridges has picked Ratnam up and slammed him! Ratnam can't keep hold of the triangle and Bridges manages to pass to side control!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Bridges tries for a kimura but Ratnam is defending well.

Bridges decides to stand back up. Bridges steps back and let's Ratnam get back to his feet.
Bridges doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ratnam counters by clinching up.
Ratnam tries to throw a body punch but Bridges avoids it by throwing Ratnam back against the cage.
Ratnam struggles to land a body shot inside as Bridges controls his hands.
Ratnam is trying to drag Bridges to the mat but Bridges just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ed Bridges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Siroj Ratnam.
Ratnam is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bridges to keep the fight standing.

Ratnam drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ratnam is breathing heavily.

Bridges lands a takedown into guard.

Ratnam uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ratnam shoots in for a takedown but Bridges shows good takedown defense.
Ratnam goes for a double leg but Bridges avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bridges continues to drive forward.
Ratnam misses with a double jab

and Bridges holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Bridges is working for takedown but Ratnam is calmly controlling the position for now.
Ratnam tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bridges stops a takedown attempt from Ratnam.
Bridges drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ratnam gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bridges manages to pull guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ratnam tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bridges defends well and Ratnam ends up having to push Bridges into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bridges wriggles free and stands up.
Ratnam misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bridges throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ratnam tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bridges is in Ratnam's guard.
Ratnam wants to get back to his feet but Bridges passes into half guard.
Ratnam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.


Ratnam is defending against the submission attempts here by Bridges.

Bridges is trying for a kimura here. Ratnam looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bridges wins by kimura!
